Common Cold

Aromatherapy: Lavender, Eucalyptus, and Tea Tree or Rosemary and Peppermint use in bath or steam inhalation. A bath with Lavender and Marjoram helps reduce aches and fever.

Homeopathy: Allium cepa – for steaming nose and eyes. Pulsatilla – for runny nose with thick yellow or green mucus. Main remedy for coughing worse for lying down and on waking. Natrum mur – for colds with cold sores. Sneezing and watery eyes. Dulcamara – when nose stuffs up in rain of wind.

Vitamins/Minerals: Increase intake of Vitamin C (up to 2g per day during a cold), Vitamin A and E, Selenium and Zinc.

Food: Relieved with acerola, chamomile tea, chicken soup, chile peppers, garlic, garlic soup, pineapple, tea and yogurt.

Reflexology: Reflexes to areas affected – nose, sinuses etc. Reflexes to adrenals to reduce inflammation. Reflexes to ileo-caecal valve and intestines for good elimination. Reflexes to upper lymph nodes to clear any infection.
